Texas Book Festival Day One

Last night was the Gala. Salman Rushdie, Alexander McCall Smith and
David McCullough spoke. There was porkchops, mac and cheese, and most
importantly, pie.

I am now walking to the Capitol to hear Bill Clinton speak and the sit
on my panel discussion at 1:00

Reporting Live From The Big House Pink in Austin

In Austin today for the Texas Book Festival at the State Capitol. I am
doing a panel tomorrow at 1PM in Extension Room E2.016 called "From the
Ground Up: Sense of Place."

Tonight is the Gala. Authors in black-ties and evening gowns. Bill
Clinton and Salman Rushdie will be there. The goal is to get party pics
with both. Photos to come as the event unfolds tonight.
